“We’re currently working on our second private residential CLT project with G-frame. They’re a very solutions based company and are great to work with. At our first project, County Down Barn, the G-frame team developed an innovative way of installing the CLT structure, where the trusses are placed on top of the roof and the roof is ‘hung’ from them, so that only the tie beams are visible internally.
The initial brief was to have no trusses and to use twice as many beams placed externally, but this added too much cost and G-frame were able to design a solution that works really well, uses less timber and opens the space for zoning, which is a major benefit.”
